William Murk describes his experience with the Uganda Village Project, an intervention designed to prevent and treat fistula. Murk found that merely locating women who are candidates for treatment is an enormous challenge, since affected women may be hidden from public view. Once identified, women can be transported to hospitals for free corrective surgery.
