For Many Girls, the Key to Education is Sanitary Napkins (Huffington Post, 2014)
Maureen Shaw describes the challenges faced by many young girls in the developing world when they start menstruating but do not have access to private, girls-only latrines or sanitary supplies. Note that while Shaw encourages donation to the Kasiisi project, Her Dignity Network has not vetted the content of the sex education provided by the project alongside their efforts to distribute sanitary supplies in Uganda.
