India Continues to Suffer from High Child Mortality Rate Due to Diarrhea (Indian Express)
India contributes the most child deaths due to diarrheal disease globally, and combined with Nigeria accounted for nearly 42 per cent of global child deaths due to diarrhea in 2015. Malnourishment, septic bacterial infections caused by water contaminated with human or animal feces, and poor personal hygiene all contribute to diarrheal disease.
