It’s Legal for 14-Year-Olds to Marry. Should It Be? (New York Times, 2017)
New York law currently permits children as young as 14, usually girls, to marry. And many other states do not have a statutory minimum age for marriage. While child marriage is not as common in the US as other parts of the world, it continues to be a concern for the health and wellbeing of young girls across the country.
