Speaker Bio
Dr. Monique V. Chireau is the Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Clinical and Epidemiologic Research for the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Chireau is also a research associate for the Center for Health Services in Primary Care and a staff gynecologist for the Departments of Ambulatory Care and Surgery both at the Durham VA Medical Center. Her research interests include: genetic epidemiology in women’s health, epidemiology of adverse pregnancy outcomes, women veterans’ health and healthcare, health services research in women’s health (risk-adjustment and predictive modeling of outcomes; outcomes and quality), adverse pregnancy outcomes and long-term health, and racial disparities in women’s health. Dr. Chireau has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is a reviewer for several noted medical journals. Dr. Chireau became the Co-Chair for the Cardiovascular Disease in Women and Special Populations National Committee at the American Heart Association in 2011.
